Replacing or changing permits
There are times when it will be necessary to either replace or change your permit, and to change the information on the original application card. They include:
- Lost/Stolen hangtags
If your hangtag is lost or stolen, you are required to report it in person to UNL Parking and Transit Services during office hours. At that time a free temporary permit will be issued for two weeks. If the hangtag is not located within those two weeks, you may purchase a new permit for $30.00 or the price of the current permit, whichever is less. If the original hangtag is recovered, the replacement fee will be refunded. The use of any unauthorized, stolen, counterfeit, altered, or reproduced hangtag or facsimile will result in confiscation of the hangtag, revocation of parking privileges for the one calendar year, a fine of $200.00, and a report filed with the UNL Judicial Affairs Office. - Registration Changes
If you change your registration (vehicle, license plates, name, or address), you will need to report these changes directly to UNL Parking and Transit Services within 30 calendar days. This may be accomplished by phone, fax, email or through the Parking Services web site. - Student Address Changes
If a Resident Student changes addresses or a Commuter Student moves on campus, a permit change must be made and a change of address filed with UNL Parking and Transit Services.
Personal notes or signs
Personal notes or signs left in or on vehicles regarding any reason for parking on campus without a proper and valid University parking permit or for parking in an unauthorized manner will not be accepted. A temporary permit must be obtained.
