Transit

Route Information for Students

The UNL/StarTran bus pass accompanied by your University Student ID card will be required to ride all buses including those at UNL.
This bus pass and all future transit improvements are a result of a student transit fee paid through student fees. This transit fee was passed last year by ASUN and supported by the majority of the student body.

Route Information for Faculty/Staff

A UNL/StarTran bus pass accompanied by your University ID card will be required to ride all buses including those at UNL.
Bus passes will be issued to faculty and staff upon request only. They may be obtained through the Parking and Transit Services Office located in the Stadium Drive Parking Garage - either on line at https://scsapps.unl.edu/PermitOrderSystem/FSPermitOrder.aspx or in person. The bus passes are issued at no charge to those who have purchased an annual, semester or nine month parking permit. The charge for a bus pass for those who do not purchase a parking permit is $120 annually, $90 for 9 months or $45 for the semester. A payroll deduction plan, using a pretax deduction is available and recommended.

UNL Bus Service

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln operates three bus routes on City Campus: the Perimeter Route, the 19th, 23rd Streets Route, and, the Garage Route.  The Perimeter Route runs north and south from 6:30 AM until 11:30 PM serving the Perimeter parking lots located on the north side of campus transporting riders to the academic core.  The 19th/23rd Streets Route runs east and west from 6:30 AM until 11:30 PM transporting riders to the academic core.  The Garage Route circulates the academic core from 6:30 AM until 11:30 PM while transporting riders to the garages.  Train delays may occur on the Perimeter Route, so individuals should allow for such possible deviations in the bus schedule. Use of the parking facilities served by the shuttle system, however, saves time in acquiring a parking space and delivers people to the center of campus.
