Short Term Options
Visitors to the UNL campuses can take advantage of parking options to meet a variety of needs. These include limited single visits, multiple day commitments, types of parking areas, and special events, including UNL athletic events. In addition, students, faculty and staff can use short term options for visits to different campuses or for events away from their regular parking areas.
Charging stations for electric vehicles are available on campus
Parking and Transit Services provides access to electric vehicle charging stations on campus.
On City Campus, four charging stations are located on 14th Street in parking spots west of Howard L. Hawks Hall. On East Campus, two charging stations are available north of the Union.
The charging stations are powered by EV Connect. The EV Connect app lets drivers find electric vehicle charging stations based on location, station ID, availability, power level provided, and accessibility.
The EV Connect phone links are:
• Android - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.evconnect.ionic
• Apple - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ev-connect/id1197712470
EV Connect allows users to monitor charge sessions in real time, get phone notifications when the EV charge is complete, and make secure payments.
Campus stations are available 24 hours a day for use by the campus community and general public.
Visitors, we welcome you to our campus. Visit this page for information on visitors parking, departmental guest permit, and campus reciprocal permits.
Visitors Garage Parking
Visitors to the UNL downtown campus may park at available parking garages. Access rules are in place for each garage and users must pay only by credit card upon exit. Hours and location information is included.
Parking at metered stalls does not require a UNL permit. UNL faculty/staff and students are required to register their vehicles when parking at metered stalls. The Passport mobile app allows you to pay for the meter with your phone.
Athletic Events Parking
We provide parking for athletic events such as football game days and volleyball games. Regular permit holders and working employee parking should note the changes to your parking routine during game days.
Special Events Parking
We can assist you with planning your next departmental event if it involves event parking. Our Transit & Special Events Office has a form on this page that helps facilitate planning.
Short Term Driving Options
Short-term driving options exist for your personal use as a student or faculty/staff, and for your department's official business use. These options include ZipCar, department vehicle rental from Transportation Services, and private vehicle rental agencies.
