Students can purchase a parking permit online. New permit purchase must occur when first parking on campus. Permit preorders will be mailed to the address provided during the purchase process. Permits for reserved lots and garages depend on availability. Cost may be prorated to reflect purchase date and expiration date. Prorated cost appears at checkout. If you have questions, call Parking and Transit Services at 402-472-1800.

Purchasing Steps
- Login using your My.UNL Account credentials (e.g. jdoe2)
- Read the instructions in the Permit Order Section and select "Next"
- Select the permit type and desired duration
- Enter current vehicle information
- Choose your payment method:
- Choose the Consolidated Billing method to obtain 1 or 2 installment options or Graduate Student monthly options
- 1-installment: Full permit cost added as a single entry to your student bill
- 2-installment: Full permit cost is split in half and appears in both fall and spring semester of your student bill
- Graduate Student: Monthly billing
- Pay using a credit card. Choices include MasterCard, Visa, or Discover
- Choose the Consolidated Billing method to obtain 1 or 2 installment options or Graduate Student monthly options
- Review your order before selecting the "Pay Now" button on the checkout page
- Receive a confirmation e-mail sent to your registered e-mail address
In-office Purchase

- Once the form has been filled, bring the printed form to our office located in the Stadium Drive Parking Garage, 625 Stadium Drive Suite A.
- Office hours are 7.30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday
- Provide form and payment to service staff
Additional Permit Information
Parking facilities users must agree to and be familiar with their use agreements and regulations upon purchasing a parking permit or using a university-controlled parking facility.
Non-reserved parking permits are based on availability and do not guarantee a parking space. The Additional Permit Information page lists more information regarding proper permit usage and display, and how to replace or change a permit.
Cancellations
Permits ordered online that are not mailed must be picked up within 30 days of the permit's effective date or purchase date, whichever is later. If it is not picked up, the permit will be voided and any refund/credit will be applied.
Requests for permit cancellation can be made by email or U.S. mail. If the actual permit has been processed and mailed, it must be returned to Parking and Transit Services for cancellation and applicable refund processing.
Refunds
Cancel your parking permit by returning the actual permit to University Parking and Transit Services. Refund for a permit purchased on or before the first day of fall semester will be made within:
Fall Semester
Week 1-2: 100% of the original fee
Week 3: 75% of the original fee
Week 4 through the end of the semester: 50% of the original fee
Spring Semester
Week 1-2: 50% of the original fee
Week 3: 25% of the original fee
Week 4 through the end of the semester: No refund
Permits purchased during the semester
A permit purchased after the second week of classes and returned within a two-week period will be charged for two weeks, with the balance refunded. After the two-week period, the permit return value follows the regular return schedule.
- To cancel a permit and receive a refund, mail or return the actual permit to: Parking and Transit Services, 625 Stadium Drive, Suite A, Lincoln, NE 68588-0161.
- If original payment was made with a consolidated student bill, a credit will be posted back to the student consolidated bill. If payment was made via cash or credit/debit card, a check for the refund amount will be mailed within 6 weeks, or a refund may be issued to the credit card that was used for the purchase.
- If permit is cancelled before the consolidated bill is in the system, there will not be a second permit billing entry.
University Parking and Transit Services reserves the right to change or temporarily suspend existing policies due to unforeseen situations or events.
Please be Aware
Restriction on Use of University & University or Foundation Funds for Purchase of Parking Permits
No campus department may use state, revolving, grant, contract, or other university funds or University of Foundation funds to pay for faculty/staff or student parking permits. Campus departments may purchase parking permits for special events, research participants, departmental vendors and visitors.
